18th biennale of sydney: cockatoo island

On the weekend J took our son to the children's film festival at the Sydney Opera House. According to the boys the films were very entertaining. B's favourite was about a car crash: a matchbox car crash. The matchbox was being 'driven' around the toilet before it fell in. From there the boy scooped it out with a ladle which he returned to the kitchen hook before giving the car a scrub with his dad's toothbrush. The films were made by children for children.

This year is the 18th Biennale of Sydney. While the gents of the household visited the Film Festival my daughter and I took the ferry to Cockatoo Island for the day to visit the island and the artworks exhibited for the Biennale. Cockatoo Island has a very interesting history and it's well worth a trip. I'd like to return one day and do the guided tour.
